PSA India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) at JNPA’s 35th anniversary event in Mumbai, which outlines the willingness of both parties to cooperate in the development of the upcoming Vadhavan Port in Maharashtra, including the development of the overall logistics ecosystem in Vadhavan and Mumbai, in the areas of digital solutions, marine services, training and development, intermodal connectivity and sustainability.

PSA Mumbai was also presented with a Special Recognition Award as the Terminal with Best Green Initiatives, highlighting our commitment to sustainable port operations. This award acknowledges PSA Mumbai’s efforts to minimise environmental impact, enhance energy efficiency, and promote green practices in the maritime industry. Earlier in January this year, PSA Mumbai became India’s first 100% renewable energy-powered container terminal following the commission of its 7.8MW solar farm with O2 Power.

Regional CEO Europe & Mediterranean and Middle East South Asia Vincent Ng said, “We are honoured by JNPA’s recognition of our sustainability initiatives in Mumbai and are pleased to partner JNPA to explore the possibilities of the Vadhavan project. PSA has always been a strong supporter of India’s economic and logistics transformation, doing our part to uplift the trade and enhance the country’s competitiveness through the ports we operate since 1998. In an increasingly complex and interconnected world, PSA’s focus is on holistically supporting the growth and maturation of India’s port and logistics ecosystems through our global capabilities in digital, marine, training and development, intermodal connectivity, and sustainability.”
