Capt. T. Madhanmohan
To Our Esteemed Customers, Port Users and the Trade Fraternity
It’s been four years since the start of commercial operations at PSA Mumbai. With a quay length of 1000 m, a draft of 16.5 m and an area of 110 hectares, supported by 12 quay cranes, 36 RTGs and a rail facility with 4 RMGs providing a total capacity of 2.4 million TEUs, Phase 1 at PSA Mumbai has brought a refreshing change to the JNPA landscape, adding much needed capacity and setting new standards in performance and reliability.
We sincerely thank all our stakeholders such as JNPA Authority, Customs, CISF, and other government authorities for all their support together with our shipping line customers and port users for always staying alongside PSA Mumbai.
We recently embarked on our Phase 2 expansion which will double the capacity to 4.8 million TEUs terminal with the addition of another 1km of quay together with backup area and supporting equipment. Phase 2 is expected to be ready for operations by April 2025 and on completion, PSA Mumbai will become India’s largest container terminal.
With rail transportation playing an increasing role in India’s EXIM trade, PSA Mumbai is connected by rail container services to over 50 ICDs across India; Our railyard is already equipped to handle 360 TEUs double stack container trains which will run on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) once completed and connected to JNPA.
As we grow, we will be increasing direct and indirect employment opportunities and aim to continue be a positive influence on the communities around the terminal. Having recently commissioned a 1 MW solar farm together with many other sustainability initiatives, we also target a 50% in reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030.
We thank all stakeholders for their continuing support alongside PSA Mumbai !
