Safety Rules (Individual):
Safe Acts / Positions:
1. Maintain a safe distance from equipment gantry paths.
2. Maintain discipline and order while at work.
3. Rest only at authorized places.
4. Climb ladders, stairs, containers, stacks, spreaders, or equipment in a safe manner.
5. Keep a safe distance from a lifted or lowered container.
6. Adopt a safe position at edges, unguarded openings, and work areas.
7. Stay clear of areas between suspended loads and stationary objects.
8. Avoid areas with suspended loads, unstable stacks, or moving equipment paths.
9. Work or permit only those not under the influence of substances impairing judgment.
10. Maintain a safe position in operational areas at all times.
Safety In The Terminal:
Vehicles:
1. Adhere to a speed limit of 25 km per hour.
2. Ensure containers are locked with pins before entering the terminal.
3. Follow directional signs and avoid sharp turns.
4. Unlock twist locks before RTG lifts the load from the chassis.
5. Ensure the load has cleared the chassis lane before driving off.
6. Confirm the spreader is free from the container before driving off.
7. Strictly prohibit smoking in vehicles or yard premises.
Yard:
1. Avoid loitering in the yard and walking carelessly on the chassis lane.
2. Refrain from walking on the gantry path of the RTGs.
3. Do not walk between container slots.
4. Avoid walking below suspended loads.
5. Strictly prohibit smoking in the terminal premises.
Wharf / Vessel:
1. Wear a safety helmet in the wharf area; it’s a hardhat zone.
2. Visitors allowed on ships only for business or with prior permission.
3. Strictly prohibit parking cars at the wharf area without permission.
4. No standing below suspended loads on the wharf or on ships.
5. Prohibit sitting at the wharf edge and bollards.
6. Strictly prohibit smoking at the terminal.
